In the realm of art, it is impossible to fully capture the complexities and nuances of the world. We can only ever apprehend fragments of it.

It is through the introduction of structure and manipulation that we are able to make sense of our place in the world and fill in the gaps of our understanding. Art serves this purpose by providing the illusion of a structured and coherent reality. The structure of this reality is often conveyed through the elements and narratives present in a work of art, such as the Aristotelian concept of a beginning and an end. However, it is important to recognize that life is not necessarily bounded by such strictures, but rather is composed of individual fragments and moments. In this sense, life can be seen as an ongoing process of transformation, a useful illusion that helps us to navigate the complexities of existence. Fairy tales, as a form of narrative, can also be seen as offering a close reflection of reality due to their explicit acknowledgement of the illusory nature of the story being told. It is through this acknowledgement that we are able to gain insight into the true nature of reality, which can only be fully understood through allegory and metaphor
